Program Objectives

TRAC focuses on six program objectives:

  • Research Development and Support

The Center assists state and local governments and other research institutes in a number of ways. The Center helps develop research agendas for the region, helps identify potential funding sources, helps develop proposals, and assists in research project implementation.

  • Data Bank

The Center has a "data bank" archive of data sets and other reference materials for use in support of research efforts in the areas of fiscal policy.

  • Public Policy Forum

The Center offers a series of forums at which TRAC Fellows, outside scholars, and public officials can present the results of research and share individual perspectives on fiscal policy issues.

  • Technical Training

The Center offers a clearinghouse in which government agencies and community organizations can obtain special training and assistance.

  • Publications Program

The Center publishes working papers, reprints, newsletters, and other materials for the Center's Fellows and the forum series.

  • Speakers Bureau

The Center's speakers bureau provides expert testimony and resources to state and local officials when they need public policy information.
